Email Setup Guide (IMAP / POP3 / SMTP)
Use this page to connect your Web Host Pro email to popular apps like Outlook, Thunderbird, iPhone, and Android.
If you are not sure which option to choose, select IMAP for the best experience on multiple devices.
Quick tip: Most setup issues come from using the wrong server name or forgetting to enable authentication for outgoing mail (SMTP).
IMAP vs POP3 (Which one should I use?)
- IMAP (recommended): Keeps your email synced across phone, desktop, and webmail. Best for most people.
- POP3: Downloads email to one device. Useful when you want local storage and do not need syncing.
Before you start
Have these ready:
- Email address: you@yourdomain.com
- Password: the password for that mailbox
- Incoming server: mail.yourdomain.com (or yourdomain.com)
- Outgoing server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com (or yourdomain.com)

Troubleshooting (common issues)
- Cannot send email: SMTP authentication is usually off. Enable “Outgoing server requires authentication.”
- Password rejected: reset the mailbox password in cPanel and try again.
- SSL errors: confirm you are using secure ports (993 IMAP, 995 POP3, 465/587 SMTP).
- Mail app keeps asking for password: delete the account from the app and add it again with IMAP.
